Players on the Rise
With so many players coming/returning to Elliston Districts, they are going to be the team to watch in 2022. Rhys Kelsh is a solid ruckman that Elliston Districts were sorely missing last season, and with the inclusion of Adam Hurrell, Jake McEvoy, Zane Montgomerie & Guy Hutchinson they have added extra depth to the midfield that already contains the 2021 Mail Medallist Matt Williams and the evergreen Scott ’Fingers’ Feltus. Jake McEvoy is capable of playing either end and is very good through the midfield. He has strong hands with a big leap. He played mainly forward/midfield when last played for the West Coast Hawks. He hasn’t played in 2 seasons, missing 2021 recovering from a knee reconstruction.
Zane Montgomerie is a solid key position player that can help out in the ruck. Represented Eyre Peninsula zone in 2021. He was a key player for Lincoln South and regularly amongst their best.
Elliston Districts were unlucky to finish 5th in 2021. Look for the Roosters to be big improvers in 2022 with an influx of available players, and a better understanding of how other teams play in Great Flinders.
