An inaccurate Elliston Districts proved too strong for Lock on the Roo’s home deck to run out 37 point winners in a game that never really reached any great heights. It was a tight opening quarter with just 5 points separating the 2 sides at quarter time with poor goal kicking early setting the tone of the day for the Roosters. They stepped it up a notch in the second through some sound work from Kenny and Wadsworth to kick 4 goals and keep the hoe side goalless as Rosalia and Gibson looked dangerous up forward. The contest turned in to a bit of a scrap in the second half but Elliston Districts were able to maintain control of the contest with their defence in particular controlling the game and making scoring for Lock difficult. They had a game high 38 point lead at quarter time as the last quarter became a non event but Lock did win the quarter kicking 2 goals to 1 but in the end they were outclassed by a better side on the day who could have won by more if they had kicked more accurately. Brody Kenny and Tom Wadsworth were excellent players for their side, Keane, Bascomb, Lee and the talented Lachie McInnis were also valuable contributors. For the Roos it was Brayden Crosby, Aaron Beard and Ryan Siebert who kept them in the contest while Morton, Reynolds and Slape all battled hard for their side.
