Lock are the team to watch this season with several players returning home to play after a number of years away. They have a core group of players in their mid-late twenties that have bowed out in the last two preliminary finals but with the additions of the likes of Kory Beard, Luke Durdin, Ziek Kay and Levi Brown (from injury) they will be expecting an immediate impact.

Players to look out for
Kory Beard
After 5 seasons at Marble Range, Kory returns to his home club of Lock. His vast experience, skill and football knowledge will be a massive boost to the Lock team looking to take a step forward after 2 successive preliminary final defeats. Kory has transitioned from a key forward in his Sturt days and first few seasons at Marble Range into a damaging intercept defender, who helps create turnovers and then move the ball quickly and efficiently back the other way.
Ziek Kay
Ziek has been playing at Southern Flinders in the last 7 seasons and has taken his game to the next level since settling into the half back line, with multiple league and zone guernseys in his closet after the past few seasons. Ziek will find plenty of the ball, make good decisions and set up scoring opportunities for his teammates up the field.
Levi Brown
After a few seasons on the sidelines due to a knee injury, Levi will return to the Lock side in 2023, looking to make a difference and help them in their quest to go at least one step further this year. Levi’s work rate and attack on the ball is second to none, with a great ability to win the ball in contested situations. A multiple B&F winner at Lock, Levi will be a player to watch in 2023 after a big pre season.
